Date night with my love at Pan Pacific's UMA Restaurant, where we experienced modern Peruvian cuisine for the first time. The restaurant itself is designed beautifully - mimicking the beautiful landscapes of Peru in a very subtle way - think cactuses, beige tones, llama statues and tassel cushions.

Piqueos - Snacks

Pan de Yema / House baked brioche, whipped feta & garlic dip, buckwheat oil. (vg)

Drink - Cocktail

Classic Pisco Sour / Pisco, lemon, whites, bitters.

Pisco Tonica / Barsol Pisco, Fever Tree Tonic, mint, seasonal berries.

Mar - Ocean

Ceviche de Vegetables / Picked daikon, seaweed, salted cucumber, honeydew melon, pickled garlic. (vg)

Drink - Cocktail

Pisco Punch / Pisco, pineapple, lemon, prosecco.

Piqueos - Snacks

Chicharron de Pollo - Lilydale chicken, five spice crumb, lima bean & aji mirasol puree, cucumber & daikon salsa.

Granjas - Paddocks

Lomo Saltado / Gingin eye fillet, Peruvian style stir-fry sauce, crispy shredded potato.

Valles - Valley

Ensalada Tropical / Charred broccolini, mixed leaves, citrus, Brazil nuts, kombucha vinaigrette. (vg)

Papa a la Huancaina / Potato dumpling, warm huancaina sauce, olive dust. (vg)

Granos Andinos / Hand picked ancient Andean grains, black raisins, almonds, dried apricots. (vg)

Dulce - Sweet

Tres Leches / Traditional Latin American three milk soaked sponge cake, raspberry sauce, raspberry sorbet.

Wilson and I had never tried Peruvian cuisine prior to this night- we loved every dish that we ordered. The dishes were fresh, healthy and very tasty. My favourites of the night were the Pan de Yema - the fresh, soft brioche with whipped feta was amazing, the ceviche de vegetables as I'm a fan of pickled vegetables and it was just so light and fresh, the Papa a la Huancaina - the potato dumplings with warm spicy huancaina sauce were to die for and of course dessert was incredible. I also loved their Classic Pisco Sour Cocktail - definitely a must try when dining at UMA.

It was a very indulgent night and we both enjoyed every aspect of the night. The atmosphere was busy but still intimate, service was exceptional as expected, food and drinks were absolutely amazing and the complimentary valet parking was the cherry on top of a beautiful night out.
