Bonjour Lovers.
I've decided to share a little update on my life and a few goals I've set for the year. How is it already March?!
For those who don't know, my love Wilson and I traveled through Europe from the 26th December til 24th January. It was the most amazing experience and incredibly inspiring to be able to explore and live in cities that I have only ever dreamt about - even if it was only for short period of time. We visited London, Morzine for snowboarding, Paris, Amsterdam and the magical Iceland. If you would like a little sneak peak - there are photos and story highlights on Instagram, @edendefleur. I will also be adding travel guides over the next few months - fingers crossed, there isn't too much delay.
After the trip, it took about one week for both Wilson and I to recover from the jet lag and the flu that we had caught in Iceland - thank goodness it was just a few days before we were set to go home. As it was Winter in Europe, I was so happy to be back under the hot Australian sun. During this week, there was a lot of catching up with family and friends, beach days, coffee dates, evening walks and a ton of e-mails to reply. Wils also started a new job as a FIFO Project Manager Engineer which, I am so proud of him for but, I'm still trying to get used to him being away for 2 weeks at a time after spending literally a month together 24/7.
I re-opened De Fleur Creative from the 4th of February and it was back to usual photography business. Chinese New Year celebrations went on from the 5th of February so there was quite a bit of family business going on. I was lucky enough to do some influencer work for the amazing Cirque Mount Pleasant Apartments via The Perth Collective PR which, was so much fun. I also attended a few media events such as the Advanced Screening of Cold Pursuit, Perth Festival's Lotterywest French Film, Non-fiction at Somerville and the incredible Launch of Cirque Mount Pleasant.
Goals for 2019.
Personal - Travel more. Eat healthy. Focus on fitness - a minimum of 6000 steps every day. Buy another camera/lens. Create more quality work for myself. Start selling prints and products online. De-clutter mentally and physically. Be more independent. Sleep early and wake up earlier. Spend more quality time with family and close friends. No phone after 9pm. Keep a minimal, curated wardrobe and only invest in quality pieces. Meet new people. Talk on the phone more. Grow my business to the best of my ability. Save up for the future. Business - Taking De Fleur Creative to the next level by analysing it and comparing it to last year. Post on @defleurcreative at least once a day. Being active and seeking work rather than letting work come to me. Focus on luxury brands. Look into flying over East to shoot for a few weeks at a time. Reach 5k followers on @defleurcreative.
Things to remember. Be kind, be humble, be you. Quality over quantity, always.
Channeling my inner french-girl style with this super cute dress from Lock & Key Clothing, Tony Bianco boots, Lespec Sunglasses and Furla bag.
